Other Resources
David Bell
David Bell has written several articles on for this forum, two that I have found have been on jodan.
YouTube
Sungminro and Dodaichi85
These two are responsible for most of the jodan videos available on YouTube, specifically videos of Chiba Sensei and Kenji Shodai… two of my favorites. These videos are a great visual resource for jodan players, and I thank these two users for their efforts in keeping everyone posted.
Halifax Kendo Club
http://www.halifaxkendo.org/kendo.html
Halifax has a section of its website devoted to “alternative Kamae” including step by step waza instructions with photos for jodan, and a jodan instruction manual available as a pdf!
Jakob Schmidt
This is another kendo website hoping to serve the needs of those looking for online resources for jodan. Included in this site are the jodan manual mentioned above, as well as an article on practicing jodan from Chiba Sensei
MySpace
http://www.myspace.com/jodan_jon
You can find me on MySpace with frequent updates on what I’m doing and what’s new, as well as any vidoes I can find, upload or tag!
If you know of other resources that should be included here, email me at jodan@earthlink.net, and I’ll be happy to post them.
George McCall
Known as eikenkai on Flickr.com, george has many great kendo photos on flickr, and has a website with more great images.
Hiro Imafuji is a godan living in the midst of Indiana. His website is dedicated to providing kendo information and instruction to those who cannot get to a local dojo for individual instruction
Eric Abbey
Eric Abbey is the founder of the Eastern Michigan University Kendo Dojo and the creator of the Eastern Kendo Blog . This is a great website, and being a jodan practitioner himself, you’ll find many great references for jodan in the blog.
Juan Diego from Ecuador provided me with these great blog links...

Kendo World is probably the premier magazine for kendo in the world. It’s online forums are very popular with kenshi from all over the globe. Take a look inside and you’ll find everything from humor to vitriol to encouragement, as well as many lively discussions about jodan. I’ve met jodan players from all over the world in only a few days by prowling the discussions. You can also find links to valuable online resources that you might otherwise miss, like this gem I found in a discussion the other day...

Recently I was asked if I would include a discussion forum on the site specifically for jodan players to discuss jodan issues. While my website editior does not have the functionality to provide this, I did create an external forum for jodan discussions. It can be found here.
